The place of safety provided at Newark Sports and Fitness Centre has been stood down due to flood waters beginning to recede.
"If the need arises for it to be re-opened, we'll share information via our website and social media channels," said a spokesman from the Newark and Sherwood District Council.
The centre has been operational over the last several days providing shelter to people across the area who have had to evacuate their homes.

"We've been out today delivering more aqua sacks and have checked in on some of our communities and areas we know have been hard hit by flooding to make sure they have all they need," added the spokesman.
