Newark and Sherwood District Council rejects plans for 87 new homes on Lorde Hawke Way and Bowbridge Road in Newark

A district council refused an application for 87 homes submitted by its own development company.

The plan, proposed for a site on Lord Hawke Way and Bowbridge Road, was said to be a highways concern for the already-busy area.

Newark and Sherwood District Council’s planning committee said just because its arms’ length development firm Arkwood was the applicant, it shouldn’t be held to anything other than the same high standards of scrutiny as external developers.
