Newark and Sherwood District Council to start three-month graffiti clean-up

A three-month scheme to clean the district of graffiti is underway.

The clean-up was revealed at Newark and Sherwood District Council’s leisure and environment committee, when Andy Kirk, of the council’s graffiti policy team, said more than 300 examples of graffiti had been identified.

He said: “The task of identifying, photographing, mapping and removing graffiti in the district has taken longer that was initially anticipated.
