The Nottinghamshire County Show burst back into the farming calendar on Saturday — after a two-year covid absence.
Thousands of people took advantage of balmy sunshine to flock to Newark Showground for an event that was returning to its agricultural roots.

The South Notts Hunt returned to the main ring too with an opportunity for children to jump the rail and pet the hounds.

There was flower-arranging and plenty of food stands.

There were hundreds of trade stands and a strong presence from Nottinghamshire Police and the fire service, as well as all branches of the Armed Forces.

The countryside was brought to life with birds of prey displays, age-old crafts, sheep shearing and dog agility, while the majesty of the heavy horse, carriage driving and the horse and drays and shires also returned.
