The Home Secretary has announced that Nottinghamshire is to receive an extra £880,000 to tackle violent crime
Nottinghamshire is set to receive an extra £880,000 in funding to tackle violent crime in 2020/21, it has been announced today by the Home Secretary Sajid Javid.
Eighteen Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) will share the additional £35 million to continue funding specialist teams to tackle violent crime in their area.
Violence Reduction Units, including the one set up in Nottinghamshire in September, bring together organisations including police, local government, health, community leaders and other partners to prevent serious violence by finding out its root causes.
