Norwood Park Golf Club captains Paddy and Jacquie Whur completed their Kilimanjaro trek a week ago to raise money for Beaumond House and Notts Lincs Air Ambulance after completing the National Peaks and Yorkshire Peaks challenges
A husband and wife who are the captain and vice captain of Norwood Park Golf Club have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charities.
Paddy and Jacquie Whur completed their Kilimanjaro trek a week ago (Wednesday, January 24).
It was the last climb they have undertaken on a journey that has seen them summit seven peaks on three different treks.
They have previously summited Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scarfel as part of the National three peaks challenge.
They also completed the Yorkshire three peaks challenge last year.
The pair are raising money for the charities Beaumond House in Newark and the Notts Linc Air Ambulance.
Their efforts so far have raised almost £10,000 for the charities due to their climbing efforts.
Donations can be made here.
“After six days we got to the base camp and set off at midnight day and we reached the summit at dawn,” said Norwood Park Golf Club captain Paddy.
"It was a brutal climb.
