Newark and Sherwood coronavirus-related death hotspots revealed
The areas in Newark and Sherwood with the highest number of covid-19 deaths have been revealed.
Edwinstowe and Clipstone has had more deaths linked to the coronavirus than anywhere else in Newark and Sherwood, new figures show.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics, which breaks down the number of deaths involving covid-19 to areas within local authorities, show 17 people died in Edwinstowe and Clipstone with the virus between March and June.
In these cases, coronavirus was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.
At the other end of the scale, Muskham, Sutton-on-Trent and Walesby had one recorded death — the lowest of Newark and Sherwood's 13 areas.
In Newark and Sherwood, 76 people have died since the start of the pandemic — with five deaths linked to coronavirus in June.
