Crossing delayed

Plans that would have seen a crossing installed on a busy Bingham road this summer have been delayed until later in the year.

Nottinghamshire County Council agreed to install a toucan crossing on Grantham Road after a campaign by parents living on the Bird Estate whose children use the road to reach Carnarvon primary and Toot Hill schools.

All councils are reassessing their budgets after the Government announced its emergency cuts in June.

Mr Paul Hillier, the county council’s local transport planning officer, said plans for the crossing had been delayed slightly but would still go ahead.
