Whether people have taken part in an activity before, or want to give something new a try, there are lots to choose from, with opportunities for all age groups.

The playhouse’s participation team has put together a variety of programmes for the community to get involved in.

These take place both in the playhouse and other locations in the city and county.

Whatever your age, interests and experience, there is something for everyone.

Each of the programmes have bursary places available, and the theatre makes its building and sessions accessible to everyone.

Activities include the Playhouse Art Café, which takes place on the second Saturday morning of each month, where people can enjoy chatting, having refreshments, and learning new drawing techniques with resident artists.

On Wednesday evenings throughout November there will be improvisation classes suitable for beginners, improvers and teachers.

Playing Shakespeare on Saturday, October 3, will feature a director and actor to explore and de-mystify Shakespeare’s words, characters and stories.

Activities and events for children and young people include a series of Zoom workshops for young actors, weekly youth theatre classes, story explorers, work experience, sensory sessions, and workshops for young theatre makers.

The Encore programme offers social, creative and enjoyable participation programmes for people over 50.
