Girton Sailing Club’s Joanne Daubney takes plaudits again in Autumn Series Handicap
Joanne Daubney needed only one win to strengthen her lead in the Autumn Series Handicap.
In round two of Girton Sailing Club’s series, Daubney took first in race two after a disappointing fourth in the opener.
Husband and wife duo Dave and Jean Reid eased their Miracle dinghy through the light airs to give them their first win of the series in the first race.
The wind picked up for the second race and Joanne (Supernova) made it work in her favour to get the necessary winning point.
In the John Bower Trophy Pursuit Race, the Bishop family pairing of Alan and son Steve sailed the Solos that took the honours in all three races (best two to count).
Alan opened with two straight wins before Steve won in the third race.
