Dental surgery proposed

Plans to create a second dental surgery on a road in Southwell have been submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The plans would see a bungalow at 70 Lower Kirklington Road, Southwell, converted in a surgery with parking for 12 vehicles.

Planning permission had been given to open the practice on King Street.

However, the applicant, Mr Robert Gardner, of Carlton, said the building could not be adapted to include a lift for disabled access.

The practice would offer NHS dentistry, which is currently not available in Southwell.

The surgery plans to have two dentists and five other staff including receptionists and nurses.
