British Transport Police confirm details of two men who died in railway incidents near Grantham

Details of two men who died in separate railway incidents within days have been released.

British Transport Police attended an incident at Grantham station on Tuesday and Claypole on Wednesday after reports of two casualties on the tracks.

Paramedics attended both incidents but each person was pronounced dead at the scene and in the following officers worked to identify the individuals in in the following days.

British Transport Police officers went to Grantham station on the morning of Tuesday, November 5, to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

It has been confirmed that a man in his 60s had died.

Officers attended the lines in Claypole just before 7am on Wednesday, November 6, to reports of another death on the tracks.

Police have now confirmed the victim was a man in his 30s.

They also said the incident was not being treated as suspicious and that officers will prepare a file for the coroner.
