Disabled issue
The police have no figures to support allegations of nuisance made by Mr Walter Hurst connected to the removal of bollards on the footpath between Pinfold Lane and Church lane, Balderton (Wrong To Lift Block On Bikers, Advertiser, November 24).
Perhaps he will provide the figures that he has based his allegations on.
He alleges that the decision to review the need for the barriers was made based on a complaint from one person, who doesn’t even live in the area.
I happen to know the person who made the complaint and I can assure Mr Hurst that this person lives in Balderton.
This person, a pensioner, has to use an electric mobility vehicle as their main form of transport around the village.
No disabled person, wheelchair user or even a person pushing a pram, should be discriminated against.
Mr Hurst should start listening to the problems of local disabled people and start making an effort to help them.
The Nottinghamshire County Council senior rights of way officer, Mr Rob Percy, is correct.
The retention of barriers is not justified if there are no crime or nuisance figures to support it.
