Newark Cancer Research UK urging businesses to Turn Newark Pink
You are invited to do your bit to support the work of a national cancer charity by donning your best pink attire and decking out your business.
Turn Newark Pink will be running for the first time this year, taking place from September 30 to October 12, and everyone in the area, individuals and businesses, are invited to take part to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
You can get involved either at home or at work, with a cake sale, games, or anything to help boost funds.
To take part in Turn Newark Pink and receive your fundraising pack, email newarkcruk58@gmail.com with the name of your shop or business and donate your £10 to https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/unite/turn-newark-pink, or via the QR code seen below.
Then display your ‘I’m supporting Newark turns pink for CRUK’ poster, and organise an ‘in-house’ fundraising activity — with plenty of pink decorations of course — and all funds raised will go straight to Cancer Research UK.
There will also be a window display competition, with the winning display receiving a glass trophy, and a further prize will also be awarded to the business that raises the most funds.
Rebecca Elphick, local fundraising manager for Cancer Research UK, said: “We’ve got 20 companies registered to take part but we’re looking for lots more.
“We want lots of people to come together and raise money for breast cancer. One in eight women will be diagnosed and it affects men too, so all the money raised will go to fund vital research into breast cancer.”
