Balderton doctor concerned for safety while travelling to Newark on mobility scooter

A doctor has criticised plans that seek to make Newark more attractive to cyclists.

Dr Adrian Emery relies on a mobility scooter to access the town centre from Balderton, but said the condition of the roads and pavements regularly put his safety at risk.

Dr Emery said: “I purchased a road and pavement-legal mobility scooter a few months back and it seems that going from Main Street, Balderton, to Newark town centre, I put my safety in danger.
