Drink-driver stopped in Newark and banned from roads among Nottingham Magistrates' Court listings





A drink-driver who was uninsured and unlicensed and who had taken the car without the owner’s consent was fined and banned from the roads.

James Birkin, 35, of Old Great North Road, Carlton-on-Trent, admitted the charges at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court where he was fined a total of £572, with costs of £119, and banned from driving for a year.

Birkin blew 48mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath on Lime Grove, Newark. The legal limit is 35.
