Driver failed to stop at scene of a crash among cases heard at Nottingham Magistrates Court
A motorist who failed to stop at the scene of an accident on the A617, when injury was caused and damage to a vehicle sustained, was fined £420 by Nottingham magistrates.
Bayram Atak, 36, of Albert Street, Newark, had denied the offence, but later pleaded guilty and received eight penalty points.
He also admitted a charge of driving without due care and attention, having initially denied that as well.
The incident involved two Harley Davidson and one Yamaha motorbike and their riders. Atak was told to pay £762 in costs.
A driver who admitted being behind the wheel while over the prescribed alcohol limit was sentenced to a 12-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work.
Jevon Parker, 30, of Main Street, Cropwell Butler, also admitted having a knife on him when he was arrested.
He had blown 104mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Parker was banned from driving for two years and told to pay £180 costs.
A man who assaulted a man was fined by magistrates and told to pay compensation.
Kieran Hall, 27, of Palmer Avenue, Bottesford, committed the offences in Radcliffe.
He had denied assault, but was found guilty after a trial.
Magistrates fined Hall £864. He must pay the victim £100 compensation.
Costs of £386 were also awarded against him.
A charge of criminal damage, which was in respect of breaking the man’s £275 spectacles, was dismissed at court.
A man caught drug-driving had his licence revoked for 18 months.
Andrew Wilson, 30, of Mickledale Lane, Bilsthorpe, admitted to driving with over the prescribed amount of cocaine in his system at Farnsfield.
That was at 2.25am on June 29 of last year. Twenty-five minutes earlier, Wilson had failed to stop for police in the St Ann’s area of Nottingham.
When he did stop in Farnsfield, he had been on his mobile phone and drove over a toucan crossing that was showing a red light.
Wilson was also fined £833 and told to pay £168 in costs.
All charges were admitted.
