Families can sponsor a small duck for just £2, with the chance to win some amazing prizes, including £100 cash! And family vouchers for local experiences.

Newark businesses and schools are also encouraged to get involved by displaying posters and sponsoring large business ducks, helping raise vital funds and awareness for children and young people facing bereavement.

Katie Gibson, of the Children’s Bereavement Centre’s fundraising and events team, said: “We’re so excited about our second Newark Duck Race – it’s such a joy to host this event in the heart of our beautiful town.

“With Newark Castle on one side of the river and the lovely Riverside Park on the other, it’s the perfect setting for a fun and meaningful day.

“Come down and enjoy all the activities – we’d love to see as many families as possible from across the community.”

Funds raised through the event will go towards supporting children and families dealing with the death or terminal diagnosis of a loved one, and every duck sponsored helps ensure no child has to grieve alone.
