Family and friends raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research

Two men jumped off a plane to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research, which helped care for their loved ones.

Luke Turner and Harry Buckland raised £2265 from a skydive at Langar Airfield.

The duo decided to raise funds for the charity as Luke’s father, Dave Turner died of cancer and Harry’s grandma is a survivor.

People can still donate to the JustGiving page at https://shorturl.at/gjmrP.

The widow Bridget and son Luke Turner said: “We feel it’s important to make people aware of the great job that Macmillan do.

“The fundraiser is important for Dave to know the support we received over the last three years from Macmillan.”

This Saturday, November 11, the family is organising a fundraising event for Macmillan Nurses at the Newark Services Club, formed RAFA Club.

The event will take place from 3pm until 11pm and the bands The Ghost Drinkers, Blue Murder, The Midnight Dogs and The Borough Boys will entertain throughout the day.

There will be different raffles and food available and all funds raised will be donated to the charity.

The family added: “We hope you will be able to join us and we look forward to seeing you there.

“Turn up on the day and help us raise lots of money for a worthy cause.”
