Nottinghamshire County Council application process for reception and infant to junior/primary transfers for 2024 are now open

School applications for reception and infant to junior/primary transfers are now open today (Monday) announced the county council.

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire County Council said they have moved to a new online school admissions portal.

"If you have previously applied online for a school place you will need to re-register for the new system," said the spokesman.

"If your child turns five between September 1 2024 and August 31, 2025, or your child is transferring from an infant to a junior/primary school, and if you require a school place for September 2024 you will be able to apply for their school by Monday January 15, 2024.

"Applying online shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes.

"Please remember there is no guarantee of a place at a school even if you live in the catchment area, so using all four of your school preferences on your application is key.

"Make sure you have read the admission arrangements on our website for the schools you are interested in, to ensure you are including schools where your child would meet the higher criteria."
