Edwinstowe collision victim named

The woman who died following a collision at Edwinstowe on Sunday was Margaret Jones, 68, of Sandbach, Cheshire.

She died at King's Mill Hospital from multiple injuries received in the collision, which happened on the A6075 at about 9am.

Audrius Mickevicius, 40, a Lithuanian national whose address was given as Newark Road, Ollerton, appeared before Retford magistrates on Tuesday charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He was remanded in custody until March 23, when he is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court.

Police are still keen to talk to witnesses to the collision.

Investigating officer DC Helen Neaverson said: “We believe that there were witnesses to the crash that stopped at the scene to help and didn't give their details to the police.

“They possibly drove off prior to the police arriving. We would like them to contact us as they could have information that is important to the investigation.”
