Reader's letter: Efficient service




My wife and I listened to the Newark-born author Matt Haig on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme on Saturday morning while having breakfast. His parents had sent him a picture of themselves taken outside the vaccination hub at the Newark Showgound and he said that he could tell that they were smiling, even with their masks on.

His father was so thrilled that he apparently ran the four miles home!

We were particularly interested as this was the day that we too were to go for our first dose. We were not sure what to expect as we had made our bookings online and had experienced a technical hitch.

We need not have worried.

From the first staff member that we encountered organising parking, to the last one who saw us off the premises with guidance about how long to wait before driving, we could not have been more impressed with the kindness, efficiency and professionalism of every person working at the hub. Thank you.
