Reader's letter: Election suggestions
Boris Johnson gave the British electorate a democratic vote over Brexit. The majority voted to leave the EU.
I wonder if the British people would consider any of the following five comments:
1.By law (with some exceptions) everyone of voting age has to vote at General Elections.
2.After this time, if there is no out-right winner, one week later another General Election has to take place to decide an out-right plus 50% winner
3.All politicians shall be voted in by the local electorate for a five-year period at a time.
4.50% of the politicians shall be male and 50% female
5.All politicians shall be born, live and work in their constitutional area.
I think, as a pensioner, is it going to happen? – D. KING, Sutton-on-Trent.
