Bassetlaw Hospital’s Emergency Department to reopen after patient presented with chemical exposure
A hospital's emergency department is to reopen after an incident this morning.
The service at Bassetlaw Hospital’s Emergency Department was forced to shut after a patient presented with exposure of an unknown chemical substance.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said the appropriate decontamination procedures were followed and colleagues worked with the relevant agencies.
"Following final checks, the Emergency Department will safely reopen," said the trust on Facebook.
"No additional harm occurred during this incident and we thank colleagues for their response and our communities for their patience in this matter."
It is hoped the emergency department will reopen from 9.30am.
