Expensive pokemon card stolen from The Dice Jail on Queen Street, Southwell
A Southwell business has spoken of their ‘very heavy and saddened heart’ after having an expensive collectable.
The gaming cafe and toy shop The Dice Jail, on Queen Street, has announced on their social media the theft of a Pokemon card.
The owners noticed the gold Pikachu card, from the Surging Sparks set, was missing on Tuesday (January 7), but they believe it may have been stolen a few days before.
According to business co-owner Kate Viande, the card is estimated to be worth around £80.
“It is very disappointing, we know young people make mistakes but it was a very silly mistake,” she said.
“We don’t want it to impact the rest of their lives, that is why we are waiting to see if they get a call of conscience and come in so we can talk to them.”
The owners have decided that if the card is not returned in a few days, they will report the incident to the police as they have CCTV footage of the incident.
On their social media post, The Dice Jail wrote: “It is with a very heavy and saddened heart that we have to post this.
“Unfortunately, we have been the victim of a theft, of a particularly expensive Pokémon card.
“We have CCTV footage of the thief and would like to implore them to return the card to us in the condition it was taken, or to pay for the card.
“We will be making a police report with the evidence we have from our CCTV.
“Unfortunately we cannot post photos of the culprit as they are a minor and it is an ongoing investigation, so please parents speak to your children.”
