Elm Avenue blocked by fallen tree as Storm Gareth hits Newark

A fallen tree blocked a Newark road yesterday.

Residents of Elm Avenue felt the force of Storm Gareth as the strong winds caused a the tree fall across the road, preventing cars from being able to pass.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning on Monday for strong winds.

The forecaster warned that wind speed could reach 29mph in the East Midlands.

A yellow warning is the least severe issued by the Met Office.
