A tree has been removed after falling along London Road in Newark.
The tree was on London Road a few hundred metres from Bowbridge Road and Sherwood Avenue.
It appears to have split from the base, fallen in line with the pavement and did not encroach into the road.
However, the branches of the tree did become entangled on a traffic light sign.
An incident response team from Via East Midlands attended the scene this morning and began work to remove it using chainsaws shortly after 11am.
The pavement and the left hand lane of the road was partially coned off to allow space for the works to be carried out.
