New Mode Boutique on Middlegate, Newark to relocate to the former Grace Gentle premises
A clothing shop that sells ‘something for everyone’ with ‘affordable brands’ has expanded into new premises less than a minute away.
New Mode Boutique, on Middlegate, Newark, has moved to the former Grace Gentle store on the same street and welcomed customers to the new premises on Saturday (November 1).
Owner Hannah Smith, who runs the boutique with sales assistants Kenya Watson and Paula Sheppard, said the move comes after the business outgrew the previous store.
“We obviously needed a bigger space because we’ve run out of room here,” Hannah said ahead of the move.
“We’ve been looking for bigger premises for a while, but we didn’t want to move off this street. When we heard Grace Gentle was going, it seemed the perfect opportunity to take that next step.”
The new boutique will offer a brighter space, more stock, and several new clothing brands.
“We’ll have more clothes out on the shop floor, more available, and some new brands as well in the new shop,” Hannah added.
Hannah, who first launched New Mode Boutique online before opening her Balderton store in 2018, moved to Middlegate just over five years ago.
She said of the move: “It has been stressful.
“We’ve only had two and a half weeks to turn it all around, late nights and early starts, but we’re excited to open on Saturday.”
The new shop will open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and Sundays from 10am to 2pm in the run-up to Christmas.
Kenya added that the team prides itself on offering something for all ages and styles.
She said: “We’re affordable,” she said. “All our brands are affordable, something for everyone.
“We’ve catered for people in their teens all the way up to people in their 70s and 80s.”
The boutique also plans to introduce a loyalty scheme for regular shoppers.
“When you shop, you’ll collect points and get perks, something a lot of smaller businesses can’t usually offer,” Kenya added.
To celebrate the reopening, visitors were welcomed with cookies and ‘friendly faces’.
“We can’t wait for everyone to see it,” said the business owner.
“It’s going to be a completely new look, something fresh for Newark.”
