Final day to have for public to submit view on proposed new CCTV camera scheme in Bingham town centre by Rushcliffe Borough Council, supported by Bingham Town Council and Nottinghamshire Police

Residents will have one last chance to submit their views on the installation of proposed new CCTV cameras.

A consultation has been taking place on the installation of seven new state-of-the-art, 4G redeployable CCTV cameras in Bingham town centre, which will replace older existing cameras.

Rushcliffe Borough Council plan to deliver the project for cameras around Bingham market place, precinct and town centre car parks with the support of Bingham Town Council and Nottinghamshire Police.

The surveillance camera system will aim to assist in the prevention, investigation and detection of crime and will be managed and operated in the same way as an existing scheme in West Bridgford.

The topic was discussed at a public anti-social behaviour meeting in Bingham last week.

The CCTV scheme is funded by the Home Office under the Safer Streets initiative after the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire, together with local authorities, secured £333,000 of Safer Streets funding for the area.

Bingham Town Council has also provided local funding for the CCTV project.
