Finale of free band concerts

The annual Brass Explosion will be held in the grounds of Newark Castle on Sunday, marking the end of this year’s season of free band concerts.

The event starts at 2pm with family entertainment, including a magician, balloon modeller, face painter, and bouncy castles for children.

Newark Town Band will start the music programme at 3pm, playing for an hour.

They will be followed by Shirebrook Miners’ Welfare Band, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm; the Foresters Brass Band, from 6pm to 7pm; and Decent Chaps, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

The programme will finish with Newark and Sherwood Concert Band, which will play from 9pm to 10pm, followed by a fireworks finale.

The event has been organised by Newark Town Council, in conjunction with the Liz Hobbs Group, and the support of Newark and Sherwood District Council.
