Collingham Fire Station crews attend incidents of vehicles on fire this week on A17 and Harby




Fire crews have attended two incidents of vehicles on fire this week.

In the early hours of Monday morning (October 6), Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue crews from Collingham station crew was mobilised to reports of a car fire near Harby.

The van fire was extinguished by a hose reel jet carried by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The van was discovered to be carrying scrap metal. Nottinghamshire Police were informed before crews left the incident.

Then on Tuesday (October 7), Collingham Fire Station crews attended a car fire on the A17, east of Coddington.

Crews from the Newark Fire Station also responded to the incident, which involved a sports car.

The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

Nottinghamshire appliances were supported by pumps from colleagues across the border in Lincolnshire.
