Flood warning have been issued around the River Maun

By Rachel Armitage

River levels have risen and remain high at the Whitewater Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall, and flooding of roads and farmland is possible today.

The Environment Agency has identified the areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads.

These are the Sherwood Forest Caravan Park at Clipstone, Edwinstowe, Ollerton, Whitewater Lane at Whitewater Bridge and West Drayton, with further rainfall is forecast in the next 24 hours.

A spokesman said: "We expect river levels to remain high until tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the situation.

"Please avoid contact with flood water and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
