Newark, Balderton and Bingham among areas hit by heavy rain - picture update

By Connor Thompson

This photo was taken by Nottinghamshire Police at 4am this morning, showing the extent of the standing water on the roads at Balderton.

With a Met Office yellow warning of rain in place until Thursday (read more here) Notts Police are warning residents to take extra care on the roads this morning and throughout the day as there are some rather large puddles and lots of deep standing water.

There are many train delays and cancellations on London North Eastern Railways due to the inclement weather, and you are advised to check with your train provider before travelling.
