Flooding concerns raised

Flooding concerns about Lower Kirklington Road were highlighted at a drop-in session held by Southwell Town Council on Tuesday. Seven residents attended.
The council clerk, Carol Standish, said blocked drains, gulleys backing up, standing water in gardens, and toilets backing up were among issues raised.
“Some people seemed to have problems going back over ten or 15 years, which could be from over-developing the area and possibly insufficient improvements to the drains,” she said.
Although the town council cannot directly deal with the issues, it plans to forward them to the relevant agencies.
