Reader's letter: Flyovers needed

Regarding the new road proposals for Newark, it would appear the planners have proposed a new tranche of unnecessary and very expensive roads.

The one thing they have got correct is the A46 flyover at the cattle market roundabout.

To correct Newark’s congestion, they need to do the same thing with Brownhills and the A17 roundabouts.

A dual carriageway is not needed. The A46 traffic would flow unimpeded and Newark’s congestion would be gone.

These improvements would give us flowing traffic and save Winthorpe village. — B. G. WRIGHT, Langford.
