Food for thought

I wrote recently to point out that America had suffered its coldest winter for 50 years.

So I was not particularly surprised to see that NASA’s Goddard Institute (GISS) reported that “from February 2016 to February 2018 (the latest month available) global average tem-perature dropped 0.56 degrees centigrade.

“You have to go back to 1982-84 for the next biggest two-year drop — 0.47 degrees centigrade — also during the global warming era.”

Remember that the alarmist claim of unprecedented warming in the blade of the famous hockey stick was that temperature rose 0.6 degrees Centigrade in about 120 years.

The recent dramatic two-year drop should provide food for thought for those still able to think logically about global warming.’

Perhaps Evan Esar had deep insight when he said that statistics was “the only science that enables different experts using the same figures to draw different conclusions.”

As an American might say: “Go figure.” — R. SHEPPARD, Hillside, Beckingham.
