Koala Kitchen returns to Newark after a culinary venture around Asia

A couple known in town for their homemade Asian street food made with love have returned to town after a month-long culinary adventure.

Andrew Scott and Cherry Cheng opened Koala Kitchen last February, starting with a small van at Newark Market Place, and started running the kitchen from The Rutland Arms, on Barnbygate in September.

However, they ceased trade at the pub on December 22 as they embarked on a month’s adventure in Asia to learn “new and unique dishes, and return with exciting creations”.

Through their Koala Kitchen Facebook page, they have been updating their customers on their progress and new dishes.

From sesame chicken noodles and fried bao to Taiwan squid balls, the new creations are endless.

They have announced on their social media that they are back in town and that starting on Wednesday (January 29), from 4pm till 8pm, people can order food online through Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.

They wrote: “Get ready to indulge in the authentic flavours you love — delivered straight to your door.

“Mark your calendars, spread the word, and we’ll see you Wednesday.”
