Beaumond House Hospice and Real Men Talk football fundraiser earns more than £3,000
More than £3,000 was raised for charity during the second leg of a double-header football match.
Mental health charity Real Men Talk and Beaumond House Hospice Care went head to head on the pitch for the second time in over month, raising over £3,021 for the Newark hospice.
Zak Edlin, who led the Beaumond House team, said he was amazed by everyone’s efforts.
“It was quiet around the pitch as the game started but every time I looked over more and more people were coming through the gate,” said Zak.
“It was a very successful day and I can’t believe how much we raised. I set a target of £1,500 but we absolutely smashed it.”
Former Nottingham Forest player Eugen Bopp featured.
The 300-strong crowd could also enjoy a cake stand, a face paint booth, a raffle and other stalls.
A sports memorabilia auction, including a signed pair of Joe Worrall’s boots, took place after.
