Three men and a woman have appeared in court after burglars targeted a family home.

The victims returned to their house in Crocus Close, Newark, at around 3.30pm on November 8, to discover the property had been broken into.

The family then found clothing, jewellery, and perfume had been stolen in the raid.

Police were called to the scene and detectives have been analysing CCTV footage and carrying out other local inquiries.

Siomara Henao-Ruiz, aged 26, Nelson Ramirez-Leon, and Fredy Torres-Castaneda, both 42, and 30-year-old Luis Rojas, all of no fixed abode, have now been charged with burglary.

Rojas has also been charged with using a motor vehicle without insurance.

All four appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (November 13) and were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on December 11, 2023.

Detective Sergeant Andrea Brown, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Burglary is an unpleasant and invasive crime and it must have been upsetting for this family to discover their home had been ransacked and belongings taken.

“I’m pleased these four suspects have been placed before magistrates at the earliest opportunity.”
