Bowbridge Court care home in Newark launches free lunch scheme for over 65s
A care home is supporting the community by offering a free monthly cooked lunch for over 65s.
On the second Wednesday of each month, over 65s community will be welcomed to Bowbridge Court care home in Newark to have lunch with the residents.
Each month, the lunch’s theme will change so diners can experience different foods from around the world.
The first lunch will take place on Wednesday, August 9 from 12:30, with an ‘English Seaside’ theme where guests will be able to enjoy traditional, homemade fish and chips.
101-year-old resident, Edna Dobney, said: It will be lovely to try different foods from around the world as I have never been out of the country.
“I am also looking forward to meeting others, getting to know them, and sharing their experiences.”
Sara Scott, care home manager, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to offer a helping hand to our local community, so we hope this gives people something to look forward to each month.”
