From potholes to policy! Your chance to pose a question to the people who want to be your next MP.
There may be a General Election looming, but what do the candidates in your constituency really feel about the issues that matter most to you?
We’re all well aware of the major parties and their policies. And, of course, the majority of our prospective parliamentary candidates will be toeing the line when it comes to these matters.
But if these hopefuls really want to represent the people of Newark, Sherwood Forest, and Rushcliffe, it’s vital for voters to know what their future MP feels about the burning issues affecting us all.
From potholes to policy and tourism to taxation the Newark Advertiser want to give you, our readers, the opportunity to pose your questions to your candidates — whether affiliated or independent — ahead of polling day on July 4.
Whether your concern is on a national scale, or affecting you and your neighbours, we want to give you the unique chance to have a direct line to the people who want to be your next MP, whether that’s Newark or Southwell, Bingahm or Ollerton, or one of the many wonderful towns and villages in between.
For your chance to ask the candidates about the issues that matter most to you and your community, we are asking you to email your question to us at: news@newarkadvertiser.co.uk.
The deadline for submissions will be 10am on Monday (June 10), by which time the deadline for nominations has passed.
We will submit the relevant questions chosen to the candidates in each constituency, with their responses to be published at a date to be confirmed.
Please include ‘Candidate Questions’ in your email header and also remember to add which constituency your question relates to in your message.
Due to the volume of submissions we unfortunately may not be able to include all questions.
