ATTFE College hosted fundraising event in Caunton for the Sherwood Observatory Science Discovery Centre and Planetarium




A college hosted a VIP event to raise money for the Sherwood Observatory Science Discovery Centre and Planetarium.

Over 75 guests attended the event in Caunton hosted by Academy Transformation Trust Further Education (ATTFE College) to raise funds and awareness.

ATTFE College Adult and Programme of Study learners created table centre pieces and served space-themed mocktails.

Adult catering learners produced and served the guests afternoon tea-style food.

The college’s digital skill learners created table names places and menus.

Principal Liz Barrett said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sir John Peace the Lord Lietenant of Nottinghamshire, Alex Peace-Gadsby OBE DL and their family for kindly hosting this event.

“The planetarium project based in Ashfield has the potential to become a national visitor attraction and a centre of excellence for STEM.

“To have such a facility at the heart of our community is incredibly exciting and will enable residents and future generations to really reach for the stars.”
