Halfway Home Dog Rescue in Collingham hosting a fundraiser and therapy workshops

A rescue centre is hosting a therapy workshop and an Easter fundraising event to help improve the lives of dogs.

Halfway Home Dog Rescue, Swinderby Road, Collingham is hosting a pet acupuncture and hydrotherapy lecture tomorrow (Saturday, April 1).

Two specialists will be at the centre to speak with pet owners to learn more about how the therapy works and how it would improve the life of the pets.

The workshop starts at 3.30pm and entry is £5 per person and animal, which includes refreshments.

In addition, the rescue centre is hosting an Easter coffee morning on April 16 at 11am.

There will be homemade refreshments, bric-a-brac, raffles and a tombola.

People are welcomed to take their own dogs but they must be kept on a lead.

Money raised at the event will go towards fees to help with the running of the centre, such as veterinary fees, food, gas and electricity.

Centre manager Jo Plumber said: “We know it’s a difficult time for people and we really appreciate any help with donations from food to accessories, we also have an Amazon wishlist.

“I am currently the only member of staff as we can’t afford to have any more but we also have some volunteers that come in and help which is amazing.”

“People can just come in and join us for coffee and bring their dogs as we have a paddock they can run in.”

Those who wish to pay for veterinary bills for the dogs at the centre can contact the Minster Veterinary Centre in Newark direct.
