Future of The Prince Rupert in Newark in doubt as RedCat Pub Company puts 14 pubs up for sale
The future of a Newark pub is in doubt after their owner put part of the business into administration and others up for sale.
RedCat Pub Company has put a subsidiary of 10 leasehold pubs into administration, while a further 14 sites are to be put up for sale.
RedCat bought The Prince Rupert in Newark, as well as Smiths and The Jubilee Garage in Bourne, as and The Lord Nelson in Oakham, Rutland, and The Prince Rupert in Newark in 2021 from the Knead Pub Group, owned by Stamford man Michael Thurlby.
RedCat also owns Wig and Mitre in Lincoln.
It is not known which pubs are up for sale.
Richard Lewis, who was appointed chief executive of RedCat last year, said: "Some difficult but decisive actions have had to be made to position the business for future success. It is never easy to say goodbye to some fabulous teams – I am grateful to each one of our employees."
