GALLERY: Investigation to be launched into Langar Airfield Industrial Estate blaze after crews extinguish the fire
An investigation into the cause of the Langar Airfield Industrial Estate blaze is to be launched.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said three engines are still working to extinguish the fire after being called at 2.42pm yesterday (Thursday).
"Once the fire is out a full investigation will be made into the cause," said the fire service. "At present the cause is unknown and we are focusing on putting the fire out."
The risk of asbestos has been 'downgraded' but residents have been asked to keep their doors and windows closed if they can see the smoke plume or believe it to be affecting their area.
At the height of the fire, 15 crews and 90 firefighters were on-scene.
The billowing smoke could be seen by members of the same family in Radcliffe, Carlton and Tollerton.
