Last night's General Election Newark count in pictures and watch the returned MP, Robert Jenrick's acceptance speech here.

The Conservative candidate for Newark Robert Jenrick retained his seat with 34,660 votes, more than in 2017.

Mr Jenrick was fighting the seat for the third time since being elected in a by-election in 2014.

He is Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Communities Secretary.

In 2017, he received 34,493 votes, 62.7% of those cast, which was a 5.6% increase on 2014.
