Garden at Sutton-on-Trent to open to public through National Garden Scheme

A fernery with more than 180 varieties features in the latest garden to be open to the public this weekend through the National Garden Scheme.

The garden at 5a High Street, Sutton-on-Trent (NG23 6QA) is open on Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm.

Manicured lawns are the foil for this plantsman’s garden that has lovely vistas and vibrant herbaceous borders.

Ponds run through the plot leading to woodland walks and a fernery with 180 varieties. Topiary links different planting areas to great effect.

There is parking available.

Plants and refreshments will be on sale for visitors.

Each garden visit raises money for cancer and nursing charities, which are the main beneficiaries of the National Garden Scheme.
