GCSE Results Day 2024: ‘Delight and pride’ as students make the grade at Tuxford Academy
Students at Tuxford Academy — part of Diverse Academies Trust — celebrated years of hard work as they eagerly collected their GCSE results.
Many students were overcome with joy as they opened their results, enabling them to pursue A-levels at Tuxford or to follow their chosen pathways into college or apprenticeships.
There were smiles all round for Ben Cook, who celebrated an outstanding set of results with nine 9s, an 8, and a 6.
He said: “Thank you to my teachers and family, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Ben said he is excited to return to Tuxford’s post 16 and continue his studies as he works towards studying medicine in the future.
Another happy student was Maddie Howard, who achieved four 9s, three 8s, and a 7, and will also be returning to the academy in September study A-levels in maths, biology and geography.
After collecting his results today, Griffith James said he was relieved the wait was over after receiving five 9s, two 8s, three 7s, and a 5.
Gabriel Horton-Ranscombe said he was ‘rationally terrified’ ahead of results day, but celebrated a fantastic set of results with three 9s in maths, physics and English language, three 8s and five 7s.
He will be moving away from Tuxford to study his A-levels in maths, further maths, physics and computer science.
Academy principle, Jon Hardy, said: “We are extremely proud of all our students receiving their GCSE results today.
“These grades are a testament to their hard work, determination, and the support they’ve had from their families and our staff.
“We wish all of our students every success in their future endeavours. We are excited to welcome back students that are returning to Tuxford Academy and those that are newly joining us for post 16 studies.”
