General Election: Sherwood Conservative candidate wants to continue to represent the constituency he knows inside out
Sherwood Conservative Parliamentary candidate Mark Spencer wants to continue to represent the constituency he said he knows inside out.
Mr Spencer was born and raised in Sherwood and still lives there.
He said: “It has been an honour to have been the MP for Sherwood since 2010, and I am standing once again on my record as the local MP, and on a commitment to support the Prime Minister to finally get Brexit done.
“I think an area like Sherwood requires and deserves someone who knows it inside out — its villages and towns, the roads, the bus routes, the schools, but most importantly the people who live here.
“Locally, we have achieved so much in our area.
“I have spoken to hundreds and hundreds of constituents up and down the constituency and me and my team have been able to help with hundreds of individual issues.”
Mr Spencer said that he is proud of his achievements so far during his time in office, including the £18m improvements to the A614 and the Ollerton roundabout, but he said his biggest issue he hopes to be able to help deliver is Brexit, which was promised by his government.
"Three years ago, we voted to leave the European Union, and since then our attempts to fulfil this vote have been thwarted again and again by a deadlocked parliament," he said.
"This election gives us the chance to elect a new Parliament, one that will stop blocking Brexit and allow us to finally fulfil the results of the 2016 referendum.
"I am standing on my record as the local Member of Parliament, and I hope that you will once again vote for me to continue the work we’ve started here in Sherwood."
