Grateful Foston couple have £4,000 Together Energy payment refunded after billing error
A couple in their late 70s who had more than £4,000 taken from their bank account when they switched utility supplier have had the money returned after the Advertiser stepped in.
Lord Roy Leeder was tempted by television advertising into switching provider and, after some research plumped for Octopus, having previously been with Together Energy. He thought he would save £10 a month.
However, when he made the switch, Together Energy took £2,135.40 as final payment on his account through his monthly direct debit on June 30. The same sum was taken again on July 6, leaving the pensioner and his wife, Margaret Jane, out of pocket by £4,270.80.
